There's no such thing as luck or fate,
Knocking on wood gets you nowhere.
That's what I believe; and at any rate-
I'm already there.
I read people like open books
I read between the lines.
I don't care about the surface looks
I always know your designs.
I play with fear and I throw disguises away
I have friends for life, and enemies few.
The game of people, is what I play
And with every person it starts anew.
You'll believe I know everything about you
Because, frankly, I do.
You'll be a little scared and a little awed, too
But then you'll see my regrets and all that I wish to undo
And we'll be friends before you know it
You'll start to care about me, you'll do
And you may or may not show it
And I'll care a lot too
When I see a falling star
I'll ask for your wishes to come true
Because my wishes aren't so far
from what's desired by you
And then I'll help you, and stand by you,
I'll make you stop passing the buck
And you'll think its all some little miracle I do
And you'll call me Lady Luck.

The Plan
Red Rouge (RR): Well, we might as form a plan of action.
Pan (P): Step 1: Choose a cause first. Step 2: Get the necessary supplies and befriend the necessary people to complete it.
RR: The cause we choose here is noble. Our first cause is to help the less fortunate know how powerful knowledge can be. And second, voice the knowledge we have to our equals, who don't know it yet.
P: The knowledge of a the faraway revolution. It has been utterly squashed by the Kings, Sir. And as for the less fortunate, we have been denied help. We are on our own now.
RR: Not quite, not quite. We have been denied help by the Kings, but they are by no means the only ones. I know three other we can begin with. One is easy, the other two - not quite. But we shall befriend these three noble souls soon.
P: Name them Sir, and I shall blind them with my reason, I shall charm them with my music, we shall have them as allies!
RR: Oh, all we have to do is be ourselves. They're already with us, in a way - they fight for more or less the same things as we do.
P: Do they have fun doing it?
RR: Most of the time. You know one of them. She's already a friend.
P: Are you talking of Lady Luck?
RR: Of course. Luck's usually on our side, especially when you're giving her a piggyback ride. Haven't you noticed?
P: we've had good times together. But they say luck runs out when you hit a low.
RR: Not this time. Let's go meet her.

The Start
Red Rouge (RR) : I raise my hand in protest! Sankanaku!
Pan (P) : Pray what are we protesting against? Is the lost innocence of children? The fallacies of the Kings? The rude eyes that watch our every move? Or have you just been given a really bad grade?
RR: All of these, Sir, I protest against all the villainies of nature!
P: Nature is so much kinder than Man. But can we please take them one at a time?
RR: Of course. You see, there's so much that I love here.
P: Eh? What's that got to do with the protest?
RR: In removing evil, I don't want to harm the good. They must be safeguarded.
P: The good are on our side. And they are as well protected as a rebel can be. Onwards, I say!
RR: As soon as you get your hooves off my cape...

Pan
I seem frivolous: But I only kid about the things that matter. I make fun of the people who matter the most. In my satire is a simple truth - I'm myself around the people I can mock, for the ones who know me know that taking offense would only expose their weaknesses.
I'm not as black as I'm painted.
I have neither the pretense of humility, nor a veneer of stupidity.
Fragile, I am, but weak I'm not.
Laugh with me and the world laughs with you.
Cry and you wash off your own mask.
My words remain true.

Fragile, I am, but weak I'm not.
Laugh with me and the world laughs with you.

My words remain true.
The Red Rouge
I'm not a God, a Superhero or even a Spy.
I'm loud, visible, human, and not a faultless one at that.
Behind this ridiculed exterior
Is a spirit stronger than the Heroes
A spirit purer than the Gods
A spirit more logical than Nature
Where there's suffering and injustice
There's someone who takes the first step against it
I'm the one who takes that first step.
It's not the crowds I seek.
It's not acceptance that I seek.
Only the Truth.

Goodbye...
Lunatic (L): You don't have to sneak out, you know.
Butterfly (B): You should be asleep.
L: What's the point? I'll always know where you are.
B: And you're welcome to pay me a visit.
L: Why? This is the best garden around for miles and you know that.
B: Miles are nothing to me. There'll always be places to explore.
L: And you'll go off to the mountains and marshes and get injured in hailstorms. What's the point?
B: In danger lies opprtunity and in oppurtunity lies danger. I embrace both.
L: And what do I tell him in the morning?
B: Tell him its an honour to have a friend like him, and I'll come back and visit sometime.
L: Has it occurred to you that we may follow you?
B: You're free to do so. But you know you can only keep up with me mentally. You'll never have the stamina to actually go to the places I go to.
L: I still don't see why. When will we meet again?
B: Well, then let that be a parting gift. Another puzzle. Goodbye, take care.

The Flight
Shadow (S): You're leaving.
Butterfly (B): Yes, I am.
S: Why?
B: I prefer not to answer that. You see, I need to keep myself unpredictable.
S: You just said that the Lunatic was a genius.
B: And so he is. I am not safe here, under prying eyes that seek to unravel my mysteries, for mysteries and dreams are all that I have.
S: Stay. He may have the key to fulfill your dreams.
B: And fulfilled dreams are worthless to me. Till I have dreams to work on, I have my flight- the day I run out of them, my wings will fail to bear my weight.
S: You don't see it as I do.
B: I do. I'm sorry. I'll send a word now and then.
Lunatic (L): That would still give me clues, m'dear, and in the end I'll know the next place you plan on visiting.
B: I'll take my chances. But I don't like that smug smile on your face. You've already solved it, haven't you?
L: I have.
B: Then it’s up to me to disprove you. I'm off, and I promise my next destination would not be the one you thought of.
L: I like a good challenge.
(She flies away).
S: Thank you! Now we'll never see her again. The only one who actually believed you weren't crazy.
L: Oh we will.
S: What do you mean?
L: Don't you see? In order to disprove me, she'll come right back here.
B: There! I'm here. You didn't predict me coming back, eh?
S: Actually...he just did.
B: I hate you!
S: Which one of us?
Butterfly (B): Yes, I am.
S: Why?
B: I prefer not to answer that. You see, I need to keep myself unpredictable.
